Referrals Still Google You — Here’s Why That Matters
Our recent client dilemma:
Last month, one of our clients, a local law firm, called us in frustration. The managing partner said to us, with frustration clear in her voice:
“People keep saying they’ll call me after someone refers them, but I never hear back,” he said. We asked a simple question: “Have you Googled your own business lately?”
She hadn’t. So, we did. Guess what we found? Nothing. No listing, no photos, not even a number. Just silence. Which means their clients also weren’t finding them online. Would you trust a law firm with your will, if they couldn’t even care to be visible online? We doubt it.
That’s when it clicked for her: word-of-mouth referrals aren’t a guarantee anymore. They’re a starting point. The first thing someone does after hearing your name is type it into Google. If they don’t find you, they’ll move on and very fast!
Lesson:
Your website is your digital handshake. A simple, mobile-friendly site tells clients, “Yes, this business is real. Yes, you can trust us.”
Our Take:
At Click2Me, we see this daily. Businesses with great reputations offline but no visibility online. Once we build even a one-page site and set up Google My Business, the difference is instant — calls come in from people who already heard their name, but finally found proof they exist. We can’t say who this client is, but after we did their Google My Business page, they could finally say “Google Us!” with pride.
Visibility doesn’t replace reputation, it amplifies it. Looking for a tailored website? Check out our services menu to order one right now and see the difference for yourself.
