The Real Cost of Hiding Offline
Our Client’s Dilemma:
A few months ago, we spoke with a client we shall only call Mimi, who runs a legal practice around Thohoyandou. Great service. Loyal customers. But when we asked how new people found her, she said, “They don’t. People here just know me.” We asked her, “So, how do you get more clients.” She answered: “Well, people talk to each other and sometimes they end up calling for a consultation. Then we get started.”
That’s the problem — only people here knew her. Her firm didn’t exist to anyone outside that small circle. No Google listing. No WhatsApp catalogue. Not even a digital trace.
One day, she overheard a regular say to her receptionist, “I didn’t even know there were law firms like yours here, and such a good one too.” That hit hard. She realised being invisible online was costing her more than any ad campaign ever would.
Lesson:
Every day your business hides offline, someone else gets the customers that should’ve been yours. Visibility isn’t a luxury; it’s how people decide who to trust and who to call.
Our Take:
At Click2Me, we’ve seen this story repeat from Polokwane to Gqeberha. The best businesses stay quiet online while weaker ones dominate search results.
Getting visible doesn’t mean becoming famous — it means being findable. Even a basic one-page site or a proper Google My Business listing puts your name where the money already is: on search results, maps, and screens. And that’s exactly what we did when she told us they were still saving for a website but needed a better way for more clients to find them.
We prepared their Google My Business Profile, sourced reviews, and are now on retainer to work on their website within the 2025/2026 financial year. What’s more exciting? Mimi is finally getting found on Google Maps and Google Search. Meaning? More clients.
Offline pride is expensive. Online visibility pays you back daily.
